Found indoors with long-dead mammals that are part of the teaching collection for the MVZ. (The same collection has had a recent infestation of Drugstore Beetles (Stegobium paniceum).)

No page for this genus is yet available in BG, although I'm almost sure some pictures of it were already posted.

Based on AntWeb there are only 2 species of Liometopum in CA, one of which looks like a good match for this ant, Liometopum occidentale. Ron has some photos of this species in Bugguide already... I'll make genus/species pages shortly unless I hear any disagreement about this.
